It may not quite be “travel as usual” with the new Covid-19 safety precautions in place, but the same tip-top, loving and clean promise comes with extra reassurance that you are safe in your home away from home.

For your safety and that of other guests and our staff, every person entering the property must be screened. This includes having their temperature taken with a thermal scanning device. If your temperature is higher than 37.5 degrees Celsius or you have symptoms of the Covid-19 virus (fever, dry cough, shortness of breath) you will not be allowed to check-in and will be referred to a medical facility.
All people in South Africa are now required by law to wear face masks in public. It is compulsory for guests to wear face masks in public areas at all times. If for some reason you do not have one when trying to check-in to the hotel, our reception team have face masks for sale.
Check-in may take a little longer as guests are required to complete a health related questionnaire. Only one receptionist may be present behind the reception desk and guests awaiting check-in are to observe social distancing. All items on the front desk (pen, registration form and room key card) and the receptionist’s hands are sanitised, in front of the arriving guest, prior to any guest interaction. Guests are required to sanitise hands and credit cards, prior to interaction. The speed point machine is sanitised before and after every use. We are erecting Perspex screens across the front of our reception desks to keep guests and staff safe.
In addition to using the correct cleaning chemicals as supplied by our expert hygiene service provider, fit for purpose in preventing the spread of Covid-19 by killing germs on hands and surfaces, we are also undertaking Covid-19 Risk Assessment Audits by a reputable external company to measure and survey operations and ensure our best practice is the effective.
Our famous hearty breakfasts will still be offered, now served a la carte and not self-serve buffet-style, in individual portions rather than communal bowls and platters. The restaurant will have very strictly controlled limited use. Guests are encouraged to take their meals ‘on the go’ or in the comfort of their hotel room. Food may be ordered in for delivery from local takeaway restaurants. Our vending machines, filtered water and ice machines have sanitiser and wipes on hand to clean buttons, taps and handles before and after use.
The NICD Hotline is available to all staff and guests. In the event that anyone feels ill, the South African Department of Health advises first phoning the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) helpline rather than going straight to a medical facility, to prevent potential contamination. The NICD hotline number is 080 002 9999.

In order to check-in guests are required to present an ID document or passport.
Use of our facilities are subject to physical distancing and, as per government regulations, specific time frames, such as the fitness room and sundowner bar service. The restaurant will have very strictly controlled limited use. Guests are encouraged to take their meals ‘on the go’ or in the comfort of their hotel room. Guests may make use of the pool deck and swimming pool while observing strict social distancing practices. Social distancing applies to all public areas throughout a guest’s stay, including the lobby lounge.
