Our Courtyard Hotels offer an a la carte gourmet dining experience that is a cut above, with Executive Chef Keegan Maistry leading the kitchen brigade at our flagship Courtyard Hotel Waterfall City.

Feast fabulously at #Café exclusive to City Lodge Hotels

Lunch is served daily from 12h00 to 18h00 and dinner from 18h00 to 22h00 in #Café only at City Lodge Hotels. We’ve got a variety of delicious lunch and dinner meals, sweet temptations and beverages, served fresh daily and guaranteed to leave you wanting more!  

The salads: 

  • City Garden Salad
    Mixed leaves, cocktail tomato, cucumber, red and spring onion, avocado, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, dressed in a balsamic vinaigrette.
     
  • Roasted Balsamic Vegetable Salad
    Oven-roasted seasonal vegetables marinated in olive oil and balsamic reduction, Danish feta, sunflower and pumpkin seeds and dressed rocket leaves.
     
  • Chicken Caesar Salad
    Marinated chicken breast, cos lettuce, and anchovies, dressed in a Caesar dressing and topped with croutons.
     
  • Salmon Salad
    Smoked salmon trout served with baby leaves, caper-berries, red onion, creamed feta, avocado, marinated artichokes and croutons. 

The sandwiches: 

Prepared on your choice of toasted brown, wholewheat or white bread served with golden hot potato chips and a City side salad.

The burgers: 

All burgers are served with golden hot potato chips and a City side salad. 

  • Beef Burger
    200g pure beef patty, baby leaves, mayonnaise, house relish, red onion rings and gherkin.
     
  • City Slicker Burger
    200g pure beef patty, baby leaves, mayonnaise, house relish, red onion rings, gherkin, mature cheddar cheese, streaky bacon and avocado.
     
  • Mediterranean Chicken Burger
    Mediterranean-style chicken breast, lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, paprika hummus, sundried tomato pesto, and mature cheddar cheese.
     
  • Plant-Based Burger
    BBQ plant-based patty, baby leaves, paprika hummus, gherkin, tomato, red onion, and house relish. 

The pizzas: 

Large, thin base pizzas with rustic Napolitano sauce and your choice of toppings. Served with an accompaniment of fresh garlic, chillies and Parmesan cheese. 

  • Margherita
    Buffalo mozzarella cheese, oven-roasted cherry tomatoes, basil pesto and fresh basil leaves.
     
  • Veggie
    Mozzarella cheese, slow-roasted cherry tomatoes, marinated corn, braised baby onion, sautéed black olives, avocado (seasonal) and fresh dressed rocket.
     
  • Bacon, Spinach and Feta
    Mozzarella cheese, bacon, spinach, Danish feta and sundried tomato pesto.
     
  • Tandoori Chicken
    Mozzarella cheese, tandoori marinated chicken, tomato and onion salsa, coriander yoghurt and fresh coriander leaves.
     
  • Carne
    Mozzarella cheese, gypsy ham, salami, cheese griller, mushroom and Dijon mustard mayonnaise. 

The pastas: 

Your choice of Spaghetti, Penne, Tagliatelle or Linguine. Served with accompanying fresh garlic, chillies and Parmesan cheese. 

  • Bolognaise
    Slow-braised ground beef with tomato.
     
  • City Napolitano
    Slow-cooked tomato sauce with basil, roasted olives and creamy Danish feta.
     
  • Chicken Alfredo
    Grilled chicken breast in a creamy thyme and mushroom sauce.
     
  • Bacon & Pesto
    Streaky bacon bits in a creamy basil pesto sauce. 

The grills: 

Served with your choice of golden hot potato chips or fluffy maize meal. 

  • 300g Rosemary Lamb Cutlets 
  • 300g Beef Sirloin Steak

  • 500g Beef T-Bone Steak

    Marinated grilled cauliflower steak, black bean and chickpea “meatballs”, tomato and cauliflower salsa, toasted pine nuts and sunflower seeds.
     
  • Baked Kingklip
    Baked Kingklip marinated with garlic, ginger and lemongrass served with golden hot potato chips and coriander salsa.
     
  • Grilled Sole
    Delicately grilled sole with mashed potato and a lemon and caper berry sauce.
     
  • BBQ Pork Ribs (500g)
    Marinated sticky pork ribs served with chargrilled corn on the cob, golden hot potato chips and house slaw.
     
  • Harissa Spice Chicken
    Harissa rubbed chicken quarters served with golden hot potato chips and marinated corn and chive salad.
     
  • Chicken Schnitzel
    Crumbed chicken escallops, golden hot potato chips, roasted seasonal vegetables, caper and parsley butter sauce.
     
  • Chicken Dust
    Six Gun spiced half-chicken, golden hot potato chips, dusted sweetcorn ribbons, chakalaka and beans.
     
  • City Shisa Nyama
    BBQ dusted quarter-chicken, boerewors pinwheel, sticky BBQ pork ribs and beef rump kebab served with buttery stiff pap, chakalaka and grilled sweetcorn ribbons.  

The desserts: 

  • Malva Pudding
    Cape Malay pudding made the traditional way using butter, fresh cream, apricot jam, rich toffee sauce and served on a custard base with creamy vanilla ice cream.
     
  • Sour Cherry Black Forest
    Black forest pudding served with sour cherries.
     
  • Apple Crumble
    Baked apple crumble served with caramelized apples and vanilla ice cream.
     
  • Chocolate Mousse
    Duo of white and dark chocolate mousse served with fresh berries.

    Tender steak or juicy chicken fillet marinated in a spicy Mozambican pineapple peri-peri sauce, with butter lettuce, baby spinach, fresh tomato, dill cucumber, red onion rings, mayonnaise, served on a freshly-baked Portuguese roll with a side of golden hot chips.
     
  • Chicken with Rustic Potato Chips & Portuguese Roll
    A tender full or half chicken served with rustic potato chips and a deliciously baked fresh soft Portuguese roll.
     
  • Chicken Salad
    A chicken breast served with a creamy boiled egg, fresh micro greens garnished with a selection of seeds, red onion, radish and served with a honey and mustard dressing.
     
  • Barbeque Ribs & Golden Hot Chips
    A traditional barbeque basted, sweet and sticky pork loin rib grilled to perfection and served with a side of golden hot chips.

    Large, thin base classic Italian style pizza topped with stringy mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
     
  • Bacon, Feta & Avo
    Large, thin base pizza topped with salty bacon, soft feta and fresh avocado.

Bang Babbelas

What to drink when you’ve had too much to drink? This cocktail serves up brandy shaken with curacao extract, blended spices, tomato juice and a squirt of lemon. Enjoy this cocktail served over cubed ice and garnished with biltong and a stick of celery. 

City-Tiki

There’s a cocktail that transports you to an island paradise when the fruity flavours hit your tastebuds. The City-Tiki serves up Captain Morgan Spiced Gold blended cold with watermelon, fresh pineapple and lime juice served tall over cubed ice. 

Egoli Old Fashioned

Get an old-fashioned jolt when enjoying this cocktail in a sundowner bar or poolside! The Egoli Old Fashioned boasts Johnnie Walker Gold Label infused with white peach extract and bitters, served on the rocks with a zest of orange.
