Lockdown has been tough on everyone – we can all agree on that purely based on our first-hand experience. It had us filled with fear and anxiety. It caused us to queue for hours and panic buy. We had to find masks and adjust to restrictions. We had to acclimatise to working from home, if you were lucky to be able to still work at all. Home school, home brewing and just over being at home altogether. We get it, because we were there as well.

We’re ecstatic to have moved into Alert Level One and enjoying all the new freedoms that come along with it, however, as professionals keep warning, a second wave could hit at any point if we lose focus and are not careful. As much as we wish we could, it’s not as simple as snapping our fingers and going back to how things were at the start of the year. The virus is still active, and we cannot stop protecting our loved ones just because we’re ‘over it’.

It’s a lot to take on and deal with and, we hope you would agree, you deserve a break from all that worry. Not an early night, not a one-day getaway, we’re taking about a real break to unravel the layers of stress that have built up on your shoulders over the months. We’ve said it before, we’re no doctors, but it’s beginning to feel like a holiday getaway is less #TreatYoSelf and more like medicine at this point.

Lockdown forced the majority of our hotels to close their doors, but that provided us an ideal opportunity to begin working for this next stage. We’ve been vigorously testing and implementing ways to keep our guests safe while at our hotels. We have sourced polycide cleaning agents, which kills viral matter on contact. We’ve relooked your entire experience from walking into our doors, to getting into your room, to ordering something to eat. All of this leading up to this moment, where we can proudly announce to you that we are a Safer way to stay.

SIMPLER

In true CLHG style, we’ve made lemonade out of the lemons that COVID have handed us. We used this opportunity to rethink every aspect of your hotel experience which will truly revolutionise your stays with us. We’re proud to be rolling out online check-in, available both through our website and the CLHG app, to limit the physical touchpoints involved in traditional check-ins. You will also find QR codes in your hotel room, which give you access to, among other things, our menu to make it easier to order food that will be delivered to your room. Everyone’s been wishing for 2020 to just end and, with such a futuristic hotel experience waiting for you at our hotels, it’ll feel like you’ve skipped a decade or two!

What do you mean this isn’t actually a word? We’re making it one now! We don’t want to give you the impression that we’re only taking innovation and cleanliness seriously now that there’s a global pandemic. Our guests mean the world to us, and we have always taken pride in keeping our hotels tip-top, loving and clean for them right from the start. So, when it comes to innovation and cleanliness, we were already serious. But now, take our word for it – we’re taking it even seriouser!
