5. THE JAMES HALL MUSEUM OF TRANSPORT
If it’s moved across land, it’s in this museum. If the evolution of transport fascinates you, or you are simply interested in seeing old fashioned unicycles, the James Hall Museum of Transport is a visual treat that chronicles perfectly how far we’ve travelled.

Not for those scared of heights. Definitely for those looking for a different perspective. The view is like nothing else (short of jumping into a plane) and will leave you feeling exhilarated for hours. An added bonus is the fact that there are scrumptious dining options at both the base and top stations.
3. JOHANNESBURG ART MUSEUM
Get a shot of culture between meetings at this art museum – located right in the middle of Johannesburg’s business district. Not only is it convenient, but it is also the largest art gallery on the sub-continent. With over 9000 works of art on display, there is definitely something for every taste.
2. BUSH BABIES MONKEY SANCTUARY
Part of a group of sanctuaries, including The Elephant Sanctuary, this great initiative provides a home for animals that have been abandoned by their troops or abused. Not only will you see an amazing assortment of species, but also in an environment that will take your breath away.
1. MELROSE HOUSE MUSEUM
A house filled with history – having been involved in one way or another in many of South Africa’s important moments since 1880 – the now museum is an amazing visit for culture buffs. Visit it while on a family trip to give your children a firsthand feel for the history of South Africa, or treat yourself to an afternoon transported back to a different time.
