Hotel guests cannot live on a comfortable bed alone, so we’ve given our popular coffee shop menus a tasty makeover to ensure that guests get an even better food experience to add to a great night’s sleep!
Earlier this year, we launched a new updated and modernised menu in the coffee shops at 15 City Lodges around the country, giving guests access to an exciting new range of both hot and cold light meals.
Introduced in 2008, the coffee shop concept has proved extremely successful within the City Lodge brand, but it was time to re-look at the menu offerings, also focusing on standardisation and consistency of product and service.
We researched both local and international trends and looked at the statistics of what types of meals our guests preferred,” said Tony Balabanoff, an operations director at the City Lodge group. The group also owns and operates the Courtyard Hotel, Town Lodge and Road Lodge brands, but coffee shops don’t operate within these other three brands.
New reason to stay a little longer
The new menu has a strong selection of salads, gourmet open sandwiches, filled wraps, gourmet baguettes, and scrumptious paninis. From a variety of eight tasty hot meals, hotel management creates a daily menu of six delicious meals. This selection changes every six months, ranging from beef lasagne, to sweet and sour chicken with noodles, to a butter chicken curry. Yum!
To top off the new menu experience are five sweet and tempting desserts ranging from an apple crumble to a malva pudding, and the ever popular New York baked cheesecake.
The guest feedback we’ve had on the new menus has been great and the staff are loving the positive guest reaction. Presentation is an important part of the overall experience and we are proud of what our kitchen teams are producing,” added Balabanoff.
